Raw Strawberry & Cream Shake & a Giveaway!
This creamy, raw, vegan strawberry shake will make you happy. You can eat it with a spoon like a thick yogurt or you can drink it like a beverage. And who doesn’t love options like that?
This shake has become one of my staple recipes. It’s a fantastic dessert, breakfast, or snack. The cashew milk base recipe (cashews, water, salt) has become my go-to with tea every morning.
If you have trouble digesting nuts, then you can soak these cashews before blending them. Soaking nuts removes the enzymes that block digestion. Don’t know how to soak nuts? Amber, from The Tasty Alternative has a great guide. Check it out here.
Mmmmm. This is so good. You’ll save yourself a lot of angst at this point if you just use a spoon. Trust me.
- 1½ cups filtered water
- 4-5 pitted & roughly chopped dates
- ½ cup raw cashews
- pinch Celtic Sea Salt
- 1 tsp non-alcoholic vanilla extract
- 2 cups frozen Strawberries
- Combine the water, cashews, and dates in a high speed blender
- Blend until creamy and smooth
- add the salt, vanilla, and strawberries
- Blend on high until creamy and smooth
- DRINK!

It looks really good, but…
So I avoid them most of the time.
I read that if you’re hypothyroid strawberries (and peaches) should be avoided.
I’d love to win the magazine. I liked their FB page, and I’m already following you everywhere.
Diana
You’re the best, Diane.
I have heard that as well. I should read more about it. I looove strawberries and would be sad if I need to avoid them…
Thanks!
I know. I read it in several places on line and wanted to cry.
Diana
Ach. I’m going to look into it when I get a chance.
This is one of my favorite smoothies too – but I use banana instead of dates. A bit of a banana freak
That’s not a bad thing, Alisa!
