Today I am grateful for rereading books.
Not all books can be read more than once. Not all books have the staying power to be read twice, never mind again and again and again for almost a decade. The books that you or I chose to reread are, I think, incredibly personal. It’s says a lot about a person. Although, to be clear, I have no idea what it says.
For instance, my trusty, dependable rainy day books are generally The Dune Series, The Harry Potter books and The Ender’s Game Series. Does that mean that I am secretly an 11 year old boy? I don’t think so. Well… Nope. Definitely not.
Regardless of what it means for me to be rereading books into my adulthood that were written for pre and adolescent boys, these books are at this point, all my old friends. We’ve known each other for years and we’re excellent companions. Although we’re rarely surprised by each other anymore, we still have a lot of comfort to give, and plenty of lessons to teach.
Even after all this time. Always.
What’s your gratiTUDE today?
What is a “GratiTUDE”?:
GratiTUDE is a general attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness.
What is “What’s Your GratiTUDE?”:
Every day, for as long as I can keep it going, I’m going to tell you something I’m grateful for. I want to do this because I want to remind myself how fortunate I am in a more concrete way. They will be small things, big things, meaningful things, and seemingly inconsequential things. They may repeat on some days if I happen to feel grateful for the same thing more than once. I’m not planning it or mapping it out. I’m just feeling grateful, publicly. And I’d like you, if you’re feeling it, to do the same.
