What’s Your Gratitude? Day 86 (Running Around Like A Fool)
Today I am grateful for running around like a fool.
I should have been working, but instead, I was outside running around like a fool. It was 40 degrees today and sunny. Which, by Northeast Winter standards means it was WARM.
I started out conservatively, in a vest, a wool sweater, ear warmers, and gloves, and I ended up shedding all of that and playing in a tank top instead. I joked to a few people that: you know it’s January in the Northeast when 40 degrees F feels like summer. We ran, we dove in the snow, we made great and terrible plays; one often right after the other.
It can be easy to stop playing games, to stop having fun when you’re a “serious” “adult”. But I’m doing my best to structure my life so that I have lots of giggle time, lots of silly dancing time, and lots of running around like a fool time. It keeps me balanced and it keeps me happy. I have no reason to do it other than the sheer enjoyment of it, and that’s what I like about it.
What’s your gratiTUDE, today?
What is a “GratiTUDE”?:
GratiTUDE is a general attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness.
What is “What’s Your GratiTUDE?”: Every day, for as long as I can keep it going, I’m going to tell you something I’m grateful for. I want to do this because I want to remind myself how fortunate I am in a more concrete way. They will be small things, big things, meaningful things, and seemingly inconsequential things. They may repeat on some days if I happen to feel grateful for the same thing more than once. I’m not planning it or mapping it out. I’m just feeling grateful, publicly. And I’d like you, if you’re feeling it, to do the same.

I love dresses that fit like that! I’m a huge fan of modcloth, it’s kind of hit or miss, but when it’s a hit, it’s really a hit.
