What’s Your GratiTUDE? Day 117 (Nonsense)
I can get too serious. I can be too literal. And nothing shakes me out of my serious shoes quite like a good amount of silly nonsense. I love things that have no practical application. I love doing something just because I enjoy it, and not just because it will build character or further my career, or get me in better physical shape. If it’s going to fill me with joy, I want in.
Shirley Braden from gluten free easily shared this quote from Dr. Seuss a few days ago and unsurprisingly it sums up how I feel perfectly:
”I like nonsense; it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living; it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” ~ Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss
What’s your gratiTUDE, today?
What is a “GratiTUDE”?:
GratiTUDE is a general attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness.
What is “What’s Your GratiTUDE?”: Every day, for as long as I can keep it going, I’m going to tell you something I’m grateful for. I want to do this because I want to remind myself how fortunate I am in a more concrete way. They will be small things, big things, meaningful things, and seemingly inconsequential things. They may repeat on some days if I happen to feel grateful for the same thing more than once. I’m not planning it or mapping it out. I’m just feeling grateful, publicly. And I’d like you, if you’re feeling it, to do the same.
