Today I am grateful for haircuts.

Getting a haircut is an easy way to feel like you are starting over with a clean slate without sacrificing too much (a few inches of hair, or even less, is all that is required). It’s an excellent way to refresh your own personal style. To check in and question: who am I today? How do I feel about that? And what style will assist me to feel the most like myself? What style will represent who I am and how I am feeling right now to the world?

So, while yes, it’s just a haircut. It’s also a big decision and a two fold statement which is both internal and external. “Who am I right now?” Is the internal bit. And “how do I want to be perceived?” is the external bit. These are big questions.

And yes. Today I got a trim.

What’s your gratiTUDE, today?

What is a “GratiTUDE”?:

GratiTUDE is a  general attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness.

What is “What’s Your GratiTUDE?”: Every day, for as long as I can keep it going, I’m going to tell you something I’m grateful for. I want to do this because I want to remind myself how fortunate I am in a more concrete way. They will be small things, big things, meaningful things, and seemingly inconsequential things. They may repeat on some days if I happen to feel grateful for the same thing more than once. I’m not planning it or mapping it out. I’m just feeling grateful, publicly.  And I’d like you, if you’re feeling it, to do the same.

  1. today, i am grateful for pedicures. i do not get them regularly, and it shows. i am grateful that there are people who will not be disgusted by my calloused feet, and who will use the tools of their trade to make them smooth again.
